Rep. Goodlander meets with Granite Staters to discuss healthcare access for disabled persons

“Dental care is healthcare. No American should be living with untreated dental pain because they can’t afford care.” Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) joined disability rights activist Forrest Beaudoin-Friede and Strategies for Disability Equity to talk healthcare access for New Hampshire’s disability community. The stakes are rising: DOJ recently narrowed how it interprets Olmstead v. L.C., the landmark ruling that’s long protected community-based care over institutionalization. The administration has also pulled 11 ADA guidance documents. Advocates warn that fewer protections could mean easier paths to institutional care… and weaker enforcement of the ADA itself.
