New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan pressed Francis Brooke, President Donald Trump’s nominee for deputy Treasury secretary, after he refused to say whether gas prices are too high. The exchange came during Brooke’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Finance Committee, where Hassan cited new congressional estimates showing Americans have spent $56.4 billion more on gasoline since the war with Iran began.
