Yankee Magazine picked Portsmouth because of how brick roads juxtapose with the bright leaves on the ground.
“Its compact size along the swift-flowing Piscataqua River makes walking ideal for experiencing the season’s amber and red foliage amid historical venues,” the magazine said.
The publication highlighted Strawbery Banke, a living history museum in Portsmouth where you can see the changing leaves as well as people portraying Puddle Dock residents.
“The Portsmouth Historical Society leads numerous walking treks, including to the 17th-/18th-century North Cemetery and Point of Graves Burial Ground, both a nexus for fall colors,” Yankee Magazine said. “Wander on your own, soaking up the waterfront views and abundant foliage at Prescott Park, Peirce Island, and Four Tree Island.”
It’s on the list with these other New England gems:
🍂 Newbury, Massachussetts
🍂 Essex, Connecticut
🍂 Bristol, Rhode Island
🍂 Boothbay Harbor, Maine

Why Pappas is taking nothing for granted
|
CBS News projected New Hampshire is no longer a toss-up in the US House and Senate races, because both will likely be won by Democrats.
Rep. Chris Pappas, who is running for Senate, told CBS News he’s taking nothing for granted in the days leading up to the Nov. 3 election.
“New Hampshire is a purple state. I’m against a candidate with a famous political pedigree in New Hampshire,” he said.
Pappas said he’s staying focused on voter concerns.
“We have to focus like a laser on the economic challenges that people are living right now,” he said. “We have to put some wins on the board for workers in the middle class.”

Election season means political ads, mailers, texts, yard signs, and social media posts everywhere. But when it’s actually time to decide who gets your vote, we want to know:
|
Where do you actually get information about candidates before voting?
|
Here’s what you’re saying…
“I do not get information from the political ads and if anything it disgusts me. All they do is attack each other and I don’t believe any of them. I usually silence the political ads. I get information by reading and not social media.” — Dawn Polmatier
