You don’t have to travel far to be at one of the best ski resorts in the country this winter.
New Hampshire has one of the best ski resorts in the country, according to USA TODAY’s 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards.
The annual awards highlight the best in travel, food and lifestyle, and winners are chosen by a public voting poll after being nominated by industry experts.
In the 2025 best ski and snowboard awards, ranking winter attractions like ski hotels, ski restaurants and snowboarding destinations across the United States, Loon Mountain Resort ranked tenth in the best ski resort category.
Here’s what to know about the top-rated ski resort in New Hampshire.
About Loon Mountain Resort
With over 400 acres of land, three mountain peaks, 73 trails, 13 lifts and various terrians, Loon Mountain Resort offers a premiere skiing experience in New Hampshire. Outside of skiing, the resort offers various other winter activiites, inlcuding snowboarding, snow tubing, snowshoeing and skiing lessons.
Summer at Loon Mountain sees activities like ziplining, rock climbing, biking and disc golf, and the resort also hosts special events all year long.
Day passes start at $45 for beginner levels or $70 for regular admission, with multi-day packs and season passes also available. Loon Mountain officially opens for the season on Nov. 21, with lifts opening at 9 a.m. on weekdays or 8 a.m. on weekends from then until mid-April. The resort is located at 60 Loon Mountain Road in Lincoln.
