From sourcing local meat to finding the freshest produce, these 13 farm-to-table restaurants in New Hampshire are redefining dining experiences.
We all know that restaurants keep the world moving, but did you know that there are more than 3,400 individual restaurant locations feeding the people of New Hampshire, according to 2023 U.S. Census Data? That’s right: These restaurants bring in nearly $5 billion in revenue annually and constitute a full 10th of the state’s jobs. Impressive though these stats may be, it’s important to take a closer look and examine which restaurants are making waves in their niches and consistently providing hungry eaters with positive experiences. (That’s why we previously rounded up the best waterfront restaurants in New Hampshire, according to Yelp.)
Enter farm-to-table restaurants, which are on the rise due to not only their sustainable nature but also their community-building practices and ultra-fresh flavors. By definition, farm-to-table restaurants gather ingredients locally to both deliver customers the freshest and healthiest dishes and uplift local farmers, producers, and makers. It’s a win-win situation, but that doesn’t mean they’re all created equal.
To find the best farm-to-table restaurants in the state, we took to Yelp and found some inspiring options, including one just across the border in Vermont. Cloudland Farm has a whopping 4.6-star rating on Yelp and brings highly impressive meals, from Cocoa Braised Cloudland Farm Angus Beef Shanks to the Plum Curd Tart with Oats, Cinnamon, and Marshmallow, to its guests every weekend.

Now, let’s break down the 13 farm-to-table restaurants in New Hampshire that you truly don’t want to miss.
1. FOUNDATION Kitchen + Bar
Yelp Rating: 4.4
Address: 32 W Broadway, Derry, NH 03038
Price: $$
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday: 4 p.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday: 4 p.m.-10 p.m.
FOUNDATION Kitchen + Bar is as serious of a farm-to-table restaurant as they come, with the establishment bringing in fresh ingredients from local farms and vendors every day. Like most farm-to-table restaurants, the menus at FOUNDATION change to reflect which ingredients are in season at any given time. Suffice it to say, this restaurant is the ultimate in refined fare. But what exactly can you expect to find on the menu? Well, you can snack on Tempura Cauliflower, share Lemongrass Beef Skewers, slurp up Pork Belly Carbonara, and indulge in Acorn Squash and Radicchio Salad.
What do the customers love, though, you wonder? “Peach Old Fashioned for me and Triple Crown for my wife were excellent drinks to start followed by tempura cauliflower which was wonderfully crispy with an Asian sauce that was quite tasty,” one Yelp reviewer wrote after visiting. Other reviewers have mentioned loving the Bologne and Duck Risotto, which admittedly both sound delicious.

2. Table + Tonic
Yelp Rating: 4.4
Address: 3358 White Mountain Hwy, North Conway, NH 03860
Price: $$
Hours: Monday: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.; Thursday-Sunday: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Table + Tonic is about as wholesome as a farm-to-table restaurant can be. Its ingredients are generally organic and local, its coffee is fair trade-certified, and its meat is nitrate-free, as well as humanely raised. Oh, and did we mention this restaurant is solar-powered? Essentially, Table + Tonic is a very sustainable spot, but it doesn’t skimp on flavor to achieve its goals. On the menu, you’ll find Tofu Scramble Wraps, Turkey Pesto Melts, and Red Curry Chicken Salad, among other mesmerizing items. You don’t want to skip the drinks here, either. For instance, there’s the enticing Funky Monkey smoothie, which is made with banana, raw cacao, cinnamon, nutmeg, and almond milk, and then there’s the Rose Latte, London Fog, and Turmeric Latte. With such nourishing menu items, you may just leave here feeling better than when you entered!
Visitors of Table + Tonic love it for its consistent quality and vibes. “Table and Tonic is perfection in every regard. They have excellent ambiance which is only furthered by their fully organic and sustainable menu, friendly service, and outstanding quality food,” one Yelp reviewer wrote about the restaurant. As for recommendations, another reviewer said, “Try the soup, falafel wrap, and tempeh Reuben sandwich. Good coffee and smoothies.” Just heed the general warning on the Yelp page: You need to get dessert before you leave. As for which dessert you choose, well, we’ll leave that up to you and your stomach!
3. The Birch on Elm
Yelp Rating: 4.5
Address: 968 Elm St, Manchester, NH 03101
Price: $$
Hours: Wednesday-Thursday: 5 p.m.-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 5 p.m.-10 p.m.
The Birch on Elm brings global travels to you in the form of dishes full of flavors from across the world—but with ingredients local to New Hampshire. That’s because The Birch on Elm is one of the dedicated farm-to-table restaurants that updates its menu regularly based on which ingredients are available, ensuring that customers are getting nothing but the best bang for your buck (and best flavors for their taste buds). On the menu here are smashing bites, including Octopus Nuggets, Seared Sishito Peppers, Beef Tongue Ruebens, Duck Gnocchi Carbonara, Lemon Berry Tarts, and more. The food here is meant to be shared, though we wouldn’t blame you if you ordered items solely for you since they sound so alluring.
Yelp reviewers are quick to note how delicious the food at The Birch on Elm really is. “The braised lamb, with seared butternut squash, polenta, pomegranate and dill was epically good. Legitimately ‘lick your plate’ good,” one reviewer wrote, adding, “The General Tso’s Cauliflower was also a great app. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich on a bao bun was great also …” Another reviewer summed it up perfectly: “It’s a foodie place!” The Birch on Elm is for adventurous eaters just as much as it is for everyday folks, but you may just get more out of your time here if you embrace dishes and flavors you’ve never had before.
4. Rambling House Food & Gathering
Yelp Rating: 4.3
Address: 57 Factory St, Nashua, NH 03060
Price: $$
Hours: Wednesday-Thursday: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Rambling House Food & Gathering, also the home of TaleSpinner Brewery, is a farm-to-table restaurant in Nashua that opened in 2022 and has been proudly serving the freshest, healthiest, and tastiest dishes to its clientele since. The farm-to-table mission behind Rambling House goes back a century, with the family’s love for food coming earnestly in the form of stories about living and working on a farm being passed down from generation to generation. Now, the restaurant can be found dishing up Hot Lemon and Garlic Burrata Toast and Seasonal Babka French Toast for brunch, Cheesy French Onion Galette and Five Spice Short Rib Sandwiches for lunch, and Spent Grain Pretzels and Chestnut Porkchops for dinner.
Rambling House Food & Gathering’s mission is as authentic as its ingredients, and it shows in the restaurant’s Yelp reviews. “The food was great! We ordered the Spent Grain Pretzel and the Potato Right Unders. Highly recommend both! The Bacon Marmalade that comes with the pretzel was phenomenal,” wrote one reviewer, who added that “[t]he Five-Spice Short Rib Sandwich was great,” too! Reviewers also seem to love the Bloody Mary here. The downside is that some reviewers have noted that the wait staff seemed inexperienced during their visits, but the food seems to outshine any service woes by a mile.

5. The Puddle Dock Restaurant
Yelp Rating: 4.5
Address: 66 Marcy St, Portsmouth, NH 03801
Price: $$
Hours: Wednesday-Saturday: 4:30 p.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday: 4:30 p.m.-8 p.m.
The Puddle Dock Restaurant has one of the most charming names on this list, and its “modern colonial” menu seems to be just as captivating. This farm-to-table restaurant’s menu is full of seasonal items—hello, seasonal soup and seasonal fruits on the Chef’s Cheese Board—as well as local seafood, with the Local Daily Catch changing depending on what’s come into the restaurant that day. Still, the fish is always cooked with leeks, onion, chives, fingerling potatoes, and lemon-garlic butter. Big yum! Other menu items include the East India Hoe Cake, the Cock-A-Leekie Pie, and the Strawberry Banke Scotch Egg.
Is your interest sufficiently piqued? It should be. Just listen to this Yelp reviewer: “We started with the Yorkshire pudding. … I had the colonial pie of the day which was seafood and my husband had the duck. He said it was some of the best stuff he’s ever had.” This reviewer went on to say, “I finished with the Pavlova and my husband had the pumpkin pie special. Both were exceptional.” Some reviewers have reported being disappointed in the lack of vegan options at The Puddle Dock Restaurant, but overall, this restaurant consistently earns top marks for ambiance, food, and service.
6. Stalk
Yelp Rating: 4.6
Address: 286 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820
Price: $$
Hours: Tuesday-Wednesday: 5 p.m.-9 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday: 4 p.m.-9 p.m.
The mission at Stalk should be clear from its name. The stalk is essentially the life force of plants, just as food is humans’ sustenance—and at Stalk, fresh fare reigns supreme at every turn. Stalk receives its seafood daily, and it only works with the freshest fruits and vegetables, meaning you’re always getting a plate you won’t forget. Stalk is one of those farm-to-table restaurants you’re going to dream about for a long time after visiting. What are you going to specifically dream about, you ask? Perhaps the Seared Lamb Lollipops, and maybe you’re more of a Charred Brussels Sprouts type of person. Better yet, the Milk Braised Veal and Vegan Manicotti sound oh-so luscious.
According to Yelp reviewers, the pasta here is divine. “I opted for the house-made [pappardelle] pasta with the most tender veal I’ve ever had. It was an exceptional entree that I highly recommend,” wrote one reviewer. The negatives in Stalk’s reviews tend to relate to folks wanting more seasoning on their food, though this isn’t a super-common complaint. Overall, folks tend to adore the menu here, which is evident in the fact that you really do need to make a reservation if you want to be guaranteed a seat. Just take it from this reviewer: “Reservations recommended – they are always busy!”
7. Revival Kitchen & Bar
Yelp Rating: 4.4
Address: 11 Depot St, Concord, NH 03301
Price: $$
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday: 4 p.m.-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 4 p.m.-10 p.m.
Farm-to-table restaurants get a bad rap for being too hoity-toity, but Concord’s Revival Kitchen & Bar is working to destigmatize these institutions by crafting high-quality dishes in a less pretentious environment. Revival Kitchen & Bar is helmed by award-winning chef Corey Fletcher, who also owns the joint, and it’s precisely Fletcher’s skills and flavor palettes that are making farm-to-table cuisine so accessible. On Fletcher’s menu are Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Lobster Poutine, Maple Brined Pork Loin, and Seafood Cassoulet, among many other mouthwatering dishes. Don’t forget the dessert menu, either. Here, you’ll find Brown Butter Walnut Carrot Cake, Egg Nog Creme Brulee, and more. Revival even sells a variety of local cheeses!
“Very creative farm-to-table place set in an old city brick building. Drinks were delightful- I had the Oaxacan Old Fashioned,” wrote one Yelp reviewer who gave the restaurant 5 stars. “We had the stuffed pepper special, a cheese plate we designed, [pierogies,] and the lobster poutine,” they added. Meanwhile, another reviewer said, “There is a reason reservations are a must, the food is excellent. Tried a new menu item, the pork shank, moist and meaty, great flavor combination of maple gravy [and] sweet potato puree.” A few reviews mention that the macarons here are small, but they say that they’re still yummy.
8. Tucker’s
Yelp Rating: 4.6
Address: 80 South St, Concord, NH 03301
Price: $$
Hours: Monday-Sunday: 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
Tucker’s is a small chain of farm-to-table restaurants in New Hampshire that’s proudly serving cities like Dover and New London, but today, we’re here to focus on the Concord location, which has an impressive 4.6-star rating on Yelp. (That said, you should receive the same service and food regardless of location.) Tucker’s is a unique entry on this list because it specializes in farm-to-table breakfast and brunch food. For example, the menu contains items like the Country Benny (an eggs Benedict with Southern-style white gravy instead of hollandaise sauce) and Tuck’s Burrito (a tortilla full of beans, peppers, hash browns, and more). This is only scratching the surface, though—the menu has many different omelets, sandwiches, skillets, and more to choose from.
“Tucker’s is and always will be one of my favorite breakfast spots,” raved one Yelp reviewer. All of the menu items at Tucker’s tend to be well-received, but there are some standouts among reviewers. “My cheese & sausage omelette was very good but what I really enjoyed was the home fries,” wrote one, while another said, “My granddaughter got the French toast and was bragging at dinner that night how much she loved it and ate every bite. I had the Irish Benny, which was corned beef hash instead of ham on a Benedict. It was very good, though I like my hash a little crispier.” Basically, you can’t go wrong here!

9. Six Burner Bistro
Yelp Rating: 4.4
Address: 13 Main St B, Plymouth, NH 03264
Price: $$
Hours: Tuesday-Thursday: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Six Burner Bistro is as sophisticated as farm-to-table restaurants come; it’s nestled in a farmhouse from the 1850s, with tables spanning three separate dining rooms in addition to outdoor seating, and the produce and meat served here are both from local farms. If you give Six Burner Bistro a try and love it, you can even rent the upstairs portion for an event. But we might be getting ahead of ourselves—let’s dive into the menu before getting too impulsive. Here, you’ll find tasty dishes like Crab and Corn Chowder, Antipasto Salad, and Apple Brie Chicken Sandwiches for lunch, as well as Japanese Pancakes, Pork Schnitzel, and Indian Spiced Cauliflower Shawarma Wrap for dinner. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you might want to order from the Specials menu, which includes items like the Cheeseburger Quesadilla and Cream of Zucchini Soup.
There’s a lot to love about Six Burner Bistro, including the ambiance and the service, according to many Yelpers. “Love six burner bistro! Great food and very conscientious about GF options,” said one reviewer. Folks love the drinks here, too. “Been there several times and never disappointed. Great service, great food, and great blue cheese stuffed martinis,” said another reviewer. An occasional review mentions that guests wanted more seasoning on their food, but overall, Six Burner Bistro seems to consistently deliver quality experiences.

10. White Mountain Cider Company
Yelp Rating: 4.5
Address: 207 US-302, Bartlett, NH 03838
Price: $$$
Hours: Monday: 5 p.m.-9 p.m.; Thursday-Sunday: 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
White Mountain Cider Company is more than one of New Hampshire’s best farm-to-table restaurants; it’s also a gourmet deli, a market, and a cider mill. While the deli serves up certifiably fresh breakfast and lunch items—and the cider mill can be seen in full swing in the fall (and you can even taste fresh cider samples)—the restaurant at White Mountain Cider Company is only open for dinner. This farm-to-table restaurant is the brainchild of chef Miles Williams, a local to New Hampshire who trained for years before opening his own restaurant. Williams’ ever-rotating menu is full of seasonal grub, including Rosemary Potato Rolls, the Cider Mill Salad featuring a cider vinaigrette, Ricotta Basil Gnocchi, and Tuscan Chicken Cacciatore, among other drool-inducing dishes. White Mountain Cider Company is also leading the way in connecting consumers with local producers, as it names nine local purveyors that it works with on its website.
Many Yelp reviewers of White Mountain Cider Company are repeat customers, which says something all by itself. “We’ve been coming to White Mountain Cider Co for years and never leave disappointed,” wrote one, later adding, “It’s a cozy restaurant and we always make it a point to eat here once per trip.” Their ultimate tip? “Always, always, always make a reservation beforehand as we’ve never had luck walking in and finding a table because it is so popular.” On the flip side, some reviewers find the menu to be a little overpriced, but the food is generally agreed upon to be top-notch.
11. Otis Restaurant
Yelp Rating: 4.5
Address: 4 Front St, Exeter, NH 03833
Price: $$$
Hours: Thursday: 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m.
Otis Restaurant is Exeter’s premier farm-to-table restaurant, offering a five-course tasting menu that’s sure to please. What’s fun is that the tasting menu is updated each and every week, so each time you return to Otis Restaurant, you’re guaranteed to have a new experience. Moreover, each course has two options, allowing you to customize your experience to a degree. Just note that there are only two seating times for this dinner experience: 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. At the time of writing, the menu includes items like pork with polenta and cabbage; homemade pasta with mushrooms, herbs, cauliflower, and parmesan; scallops with fennel and orange; sticky toffee pudding with bourbon caramel and vanilla creme chantilly; and more.
Yelp reviewers ride hard for this restaurant, as exemplified in this review: “One of the top dining establishments in the Seacoast, better than anywhere in Portsmouth!” While folks on Yelp can’t recommend specific dishes per se since the menu is always changing, they do typically love the dishes here. “What makes this hidden gem shine is the food pairings for each dish. Layers of flavor,” one reviewer shared. “The food is divine and the service is super friendly and efficient. I haven’t had such a great restaurant experience in ages. Highest possible recommendation,” another said. Some less-than-favorable reviews mention the portions being small for the price of the tasting menu, but this is to be expected with high-quality tasting menus.
12. The Hungry Diner
Yelp Rating: 4.5
Address: 9 Edwards Ln, Walpole, NH 03608
Price: $$
Hours: Wednesday-Thursday: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 12 p.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday: 12 p.m.-7 p.m.
The Hungry Diner is more than a farm-to-table restaurant—it’s one that’s actually owned by a farmer. Talk about next-level freshness! Unlike some of the other farm-to-table restaurants on this list, The Hungry Diner doesn’t accept reservations, so you’ll want to make sure you arrive on the earlier side. As for the menu, you’ll find everything from sandwiches and tacos to heartier entreés and milkshakes here. For example, the Hungry Mac & Cheese is full of local cheese and chives, while the Hungry Chickenwich features poultry from the local Walpole Valley Farms. Of course, we couldn’t forget to mention the Korean BBQ Pork Tacos or the Chicken Lollipops, which both look to be top-notch.
“Second time stopping here and both trips have been excellent. Today I got their chicken lollipops. I am more of a chicken wing guy but these lollipops (drumsticks) were beautifully tender, juicy and perfectly [sauced] (Korean BBQ for me),” wrote one Yelp reviewer. “Everything was tasty,” said another, who also noted that the service was great. Some folks have expressed that the restaurant was too loud, but overall, The Hungry Diner is a hit among its visitors.

13. Alexandra’s Bistro
Yelp Rating: 4.7
Address: 15 Village St, Concord, NH 03303
Price: $$
Hours: Monday: 4 p.m.-9 p.m.; Wednesday-Thursday: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Alexandra’s Bistro is a hidden-gem farm-to-table restaurant in Concord, and those who haven’t visited are certainly missing out. Like any good farm-to-table restaurant, the menu at Alexandra’s Bistro changes with the seasons, and the current winter menu showcases just how focused on fresh cuisine this eatery really is. For instance, you can indulge in Pork Belly and Brussels sprouts featuring parmesan aioli apple pureé or crunch into a Philly Cheesesteak Quesadilla, which is chock full of shaved rib-eye, cheese, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and other goodies. Don’t even get us started on how good the Sicilian Fish Stew and Roasted Pork Bao Buns taste. For dessert, options here include the Gingerbread Pizookie and Triple Chocolate Cake, among other sweets.
Yelp reviewers are quick to say that Alexandra’s Bistro is underrated. “Lamb meatballs, filet mignon, and apple crisp were standouts but all the food and drinks were truly excellent and service was the best you could ever hope for,” wrote one reviewer who also noted that the restaurant is in an “[u]nassuming spot in a strip mall …” Looking for more guidance on what to order? “We don’t visit this end of town often but Alexandra’s is worth the trip. The lamb meatballs were tender and savory. The special of surf & turf pot pie was delicate, rich, and delicious. [The] braised short ribs stole the show,” another reviewer wrote. Just note that some folks say the lighting is too bright inside the restaurant, but that might be worth it since the food gets such rave reviews.
