If you want one of the highest-paying jobs in New Hampshire, consider medical school.

If you want one of the highest-paying jobs in New Hampshire, consider medical school.

Many of the top 25 highest-paying jobs in the state are in medicine, like in much of the country, according to newly released data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

About 683,200 people are employed in New Hampshire. Across all occupations, the annual mean wage is $71,360, while the hourly mean wage is $34.31.

The data comes from the BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics survey and reflects May 2025 estimates regarding employment and wages across occupations nationwide. Some occupations, including some doctors, do not have published wage estimates for every state.

Annual wages include tips, incentive pay, and commissions, but exclude overtime pay, severance pay, and most bonuses.

Here are the occupations with the highest annual mean wages in the Granite State.

Highest-paying job in the United States

The highest-paying job in the United States is pediatric surgeon, according to BLS data. The annual mean wage nationwide is $502,050, while the hourly mean wage is $241.37.

About 155.4 million people are employed across the U.S., including 1,190 pediatric surgeons.

Other high-paying jobs in the country include cardiologist, radiologist, surgeon and anesthesiologist.
