The landmark 50th season of “Survivor” has officially come to an end.
Titled “In the Hands of the Fans,” this season featured 24 returning fan-favorite players vying for a $2 million prize, creating some of the toughest competition yet on the series. After surprise exits from jury favorites along the way, only five players made it to the finale, including Aubry Bracco of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.
Wondering if the New Hampshire mom made it all the way to the crown? Here’s what happened in the finale of “Survivor” season 50.
Who won ‘Survivor’ Season 50?
New Hampshire’s own Aubry Bracco was officially named the winner of “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans,” taking home the title of Sole Survivor and a prize of $2 million. Bracco’s victory makes her the first and only “Survivor” winner from New Hampshire.
Bracco lasted throughout the season by playing the middle, avoiding tribal council until the merge. She also lowered her threat level by wasting her hidden immunity idol, which the entire tribe new about.
After three previous appearances on the show, Bracco learned not to take her biggest competitors with her to the finale. Throughout the season, Bracco masterminded the elimination of her biggest sources of competition, including jury favorites like Ozzy Lusth and Cirie Fields.
Ultimately, Bracco won in an 8-3-0 vote against first runner-up Jonathan Young and second runner-up Joe Hunter.
Who is Aubry Bracco?
Bracco is a digital and engagement marketer from Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. Before her victorious run on season 50, Bracco previously competed in seasons 32, 34 and 38, finishing second, fifth and fifteenth, respectively.
Bracco is now married and raising a son in her home state of New Hampshire, and she said in her cast bio that she planned to use the fact she is a new mom to avoid others labeling her a target.
Bracco also said she would be “focusing on players as individuals, making 1:1 connections, and positioning myself as a level-headed friend and co-conspirator in a lineup of threats,” according to her cast bio. “No matter what I face I know I have the fire to overcome and have nothing to lose because I already have it all at home,” she added.
A strategy that appears to have worked.
