The state Department of Education is projecting a 4.5% decline in students enrolled in the program as federal SNAP restrictions make it harder for some families to receive food assistance. Families who lose SNAP may still qualify for school meal assistance based on income, but they may have to apply separately through their local school. New Hampshire Public Radio

🎓 And Dartmouth is joining other universities in a legal fight over federal research funding …

Dartmouth College is among 36 colleges and universities that signed a brief supporting Harvard University in its lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s freeze on $2.2 billion in federal grants. The brief argues that cuts to federal research funding threaten work conducted by universities and its benefits to the public. Valley News

🚨 Across the Connecticut River, there’s a new twist in an interstate kidnapping case …

A Vermont woman has become the seventh person charged in connection with the January kidnapping and assault of a Claremont woman. Kayla Kosowski faces two felony accessory charges, but says she was also restrained, assaulted, and threatened by the alleged perpetrators and was coerced into participating. She has pleaded not guilty. Valley News
