🚨 The Hampton Beach shooting suspect has been identified …

Officials identified the suspected Hampton Beach shooter as 21-year-old active-duty Navy sailor Tyshawn Cooper, who was assigned to the USS Hampton and living in New Hampshire. Investigators say Cooper allegedly shot two people outside a gas station before dying by suicide during an encounter with police. The two victims remain hospitalized. Portsmouth Herald.

💧 Unitil expands into water service …

Unitil has finalized its $55.8 million purchase of Aquarion Water Company of New Hampshire and Abenaki Water Co., adding about 150 miles of water mains to its system. The utility now serves roughly 226,100 customers across New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts and says the acquisition will support long-term growth. Portsmouth Herald

🖥️ The Nottingham data center debate isn’t over …

The controversial proposal to convert a 200,000-square-foot warehouse into a data center may be back. Developer Tom Moulton says he’s still considering reviving the project after withdrawing it in May amid fierce public opposition and a petition that has topped 41,700 signatures. Portsmouth Herald

 A Manchester father repaid nearly $4,765 after mistakenly using New Hampshire’s Education Freedom Account (EFA) funds to pay for classes at his own approved martial arts business, believing the spending was allowed. Concord Monitor

This summer in New Hampshire, there are plenty of communal (and often free) outdoor movies, especially for families and children. And for those who prefer family movie fun indoors, several New Hampshire theaters offer discounted summer movie clubs for children.

Monday nights at dusk through Aug. 31 (rain dates Tuesdays)
Watch family friendly movies right on the beach beside the playground, with the sound of the waves in the background. Bring chairs, blankets, and snacks.

🎥 Prescott Park Arts Festival Movie Nights — Portsmouth
Mondays and Wednesdays at dusk (about 8:30 p.m.) through Aug. 24
Enjoy everything from new releases to family favorites in one of New Hampshire’s most scenic parks. Snacks are available at The Prop snack bar.

🎥 Movies Under the Stars — Sunapee Harbor
Thursdays in August (movies begin at dusk; activities start at 7:30 p.m.)

After a popular debut last year, this series returns with a new outdoor cinema system and family favorites like “Lilo & Stitch,” “Goat,” and “Super Mario Galaxy Movie.”

Tuesdays through Aug. 11 (family activities begin at 6 p.m.)
Come early for games and family fun before the movie starts. This year’s lineup includes “E.T.” and “Zootopia 2.”
