The Greater Hudson branch of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs has been fueling poll workers with hearty dinners and delighting voters with countless cookies for as long as anyone can remember. On the eve of the first-in-nation primary, President Laurie Jasper and Vice President Patty Langlais were busy unpacking homemade cookies and preparing a feast for 22 dedicated poll workers. Serving homemade goodies during elections is a cherished tradition in New Hampshire, and with big turnouts every four years, it’s not just a treat for voters but a boon for local organizations.
