Gwen Walz, Joyce Craig, and NH Senators unite to highlight Donald Trump and Kelly Ayotte’s dangerous stance on reproductive freedoms

Gwen Walz plans to join New Hampshire’s US Senators and Joyce Craig in an upcoming press call to draw attention to the risk Kelly Ayotte and Donald Trump represent to Granite Stater’s reproductive freedoms, highlighting Trump’s Project 2025 agenda and Ayotte’s past support for abortion bans, defunding Planned Parenthood, and her defense of criminal penalties for doctors. With less than two weeks until Election Day, Gwen Walz, wife of Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz, will host a press call on October 24, alongside U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, and New Hampshire gubernatorial candidate Joyce Craig, to emphasize the urgent need to protect reproductive freedoms in New Hampshire from Republican gubernatorial candidate Kelly Ayotte.

The call will focus on contrasting the GOP’s Project 2025 agenda, championed by Trump and Ayotte, with the pro-choice platform of the Harris-Walz campaign and New Hampshire Democrats.

The speakers will argue that Kelly Ayotte’s past support for national abortion bans and defunding Planned Parenthood signals a clear threat to reproductive rights in New Hampshire. In contrast, the Harris-Walz campaign, along with NH Democrats, is committed to safeguarding a woman’s right to choose and ensuring access to necessary healthcare.

New Hampshire remains the only state in New England that has not yet codified Roe v. Wade protections into law, making it a pivotal battleground in the fight for reproductive freedom. This vulnerability has prompted a strong response from Vice President Harris, Governor Walz, and their allies, who are galvanizing voters to reject the GOP’s extreme agenda.

During a New Hampshire Public Radio debate this week, Ayotte defended the existing abortion ban in New Hampshire and said she would not roll back criminal penalties against doctors in the state who violated the ban, which include up to 7 years in prison and $100,000 in fines — some of the strictest criminal penalties in the nation.

Gwen Walz, who recently shared her own personal fertility story during a trip to New Hampshire in September, will also highlight how personal these issues are for millions of women across the country. She has been a visible presence in New Hampshire this election cycle, mobilizing volunteers and engaging with local educators and activists to amplify the campaign’s message.
