Last week, we asked readers to share their thoughts on the recent election results, and the responses were passionate and varied. Many expressed a mix of surprise, confusion, and reflection on the outcomes, with a focus on how different parts of the country, and even the state of New Hampshire, seemed to break in unexpected ways. Here are some of the perspectives we received:
What matters is what we do next. — Kathleen McC.
Gobsmacked. Trump’s vote count isn’t up, it’s roughly the same as 2020, while there’s a huge gap in the Democrats total, to the tune of almost 16 million. Why? How? — Dave Costa
What I want to know, is how New Hampshire voted for Kamala at the presidential level, but voted Ayotte local?? Who are these people who split this ticket? Is it that the same people who think that Joyce Craig screwed up Manchester didn’t believe that. Biden Harris screwed up so much in the country. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m all for the outcome that we got, just think it’s kind of weird the way it turned out here. — Scott Strong
The Democrats were so self important they forgot about the working women and men who believe that the government should work be run by the people. The government should not run the people’s lives. Working people are America. Democrats, you should never forget that. Now go back and “CHANGE” your platform. Let us take care of America. Come back when you get rid of your self-serving BS. We will welcome you then. — @animrag12
As you can see, people are processing these results in different ways, and many are eager to see how the political landscape will evolve in the coming months. The election may be over, but the conversation is just beginning.
