5 New Hampshire orchards where you can pick your own peaches

Who says Georgia has the best peaches? Peach season here is just as sweet. It runs from late July or early August to early September. So don’t miss out—here’s where to pick your own peaches.

Applecrest Farm in Hampton Falls: As one of the oldest and largest orchards in New Hampshire, Applecrest Farm is a family-owned farm that dates back to 1913. The farm is renowned for its extensive variety of fruits and vegetables, especially its peaches, which come in over 20 varieties, including Sugar May, White Lady, Red Haven, Garnet Beauty, Harko, and Mericrest. The farm is not just about fruit-picking; it also offers seasonal festivals, hayrides, a farm market, and a creamery.

Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole: Nestled in the scenic hills of Walpole, Alyson’s Orchard spans over 450 acres and is a beautiful spot for picking your own fruit. The orchard offers seven varieties of peaches. Beyond peach picking, the orchard is a popular destination for weddings and events due to its breathtaking views and serene atmosphere. The farm also has a farm store where you can purchase locally made products.

Union Lake Peach Orchard in Barrington: This smaller, family-owned farm is cherished for its intimate and welcoming atmosphere. With 425 trees and 14 different varieties of peaches and nectarines, Union Lake Peach Orchard is a hidden gem in Barrington. The farm’s focus is solely on peaches and nectarines, allowing them to cultivate a wide range of flavors and textures.

Gould Hill Farm in Contoocook: Gould Hill Farm is perched on a hilltop, offering stunning panoramic views. The farm is known for its diverse selection of over 15 peach varieties, including both yellow and white-fleshed peaches like Saturn (flat or donut) peaches. In addition to peach picking, the farm also produces apples and other fruits. They have a farm store where you can find homemade baked goods, local produce, and fresh cider.

Mack’s Apples in Londonderry: A cornerstone of New Hampshire’s agricultural history, Mack’s Apples has been operating since 1732. While they’re primarily known for their apples, the farm also grows peaches and offers a wide range of farm-fresh products. A highlight of a visit to Mack’s is their ice cream stand, where you can enjoy homemade peach ice cream made with fruit from the farm. The farm also hosts various seasonal activities, making it a popular family destination.
