Many runners qualify by running for charities. They include York High School graduate Ashley Lomasney, who is running as part of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute marathon team in support of her family’s history of cancer.
Cooper Miller, a 2025 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas is the youngest Seacoast runner, at the age of 19, in the field for the second consecutive year.
Also, Karen Fogg, 59, will be running in her 18th consecutive Boston Marathon, and this time she will be joined by her daughter, Sydney Fogg.
Maine duo crosses finish line in less than 2:45
Matthew Daly, who was the fastest Seacoast runner in last year’s race in a time of 2:38:30, crossed the finish line this year in a time of 2:40.42.
Samuel Bradbury, 45, of Kittery, Maine, finished in a time of 02:19:07. Bradbury finished 64th overall and first in the 45-49 age group

Sharon Lokedi wins Boston Marathon women’s division for second year in a row
Sharon Lokedi, 32, of Kenya broke away at the end to win her second Boston Marathon title and a prize of $150,000.
She finished with a time of 2 hours 18 minutes and 50 seconds.She held the lead for the last few miles of the race, creating a clear win for herself. Last year, she was battling it out neck and neck at the finish line.
In 2024, she set the course record, finishing with a time of 2:17:22, greeted by her mom as she ran across the finish line. In 2023, she won a silver the Boston Marathon. She’s also won the New York Marathon.
John Korir defends Boston Marathon men’s title in record time
After taking a dominating lead midway through the race, John Korir won the title of Boston Marathon champion for the second year in a row. And this time, he clinched the course record, winning him an extra $50,000 in prize money.
He finished with a time of 2 hours 1 minute 52 seconds.
The course record for the men is Geoffrey Mutai’s record time of 2 hours, 3 minutes and 2 seconds set in 2011.
Korir, from Kenya, comes from a running family. His older brother, Wesley Korir, won the Boston Marathon in 2012.
Winning the marathon comes with a prize purse of $150,000.
