2 New Hampshire billionaires make Forbes’ list of richest people in America

Two New Hampshire billionaires made the Forbes 400 – the business magazine’s ranking of the richest people in the United States. A data-mining wizard and a grocery mogul in the Granite State have climbed their way to the top.

Two New Hampshire billionaires made the Forbes 400—the business magazine’s ranking of the richest people in the United States.

A data-mining wizard and a grocery mogul in the Granite State have climbed their way to the top.

To compile the list, Forbes interviewed billionaires and their associates while poring over Securities and Exchange Commission documents and court filings, the magazine said.

Forbes found that the 400 wealthiest people in the U.S. are worth a combined $6.6 trillion after getting $1.2 trillion richer since 2024.

Here are the two wealthiest billionaires in New Hampshire this year, according to Forbes:

  1. Rick Cohen & family
    At age 73, the owner and executive chairman of C&S Wholesale Grocers has a net worth of $22.1 billion, Forbes said. Cohen’s company is the nation’s largest grocery wholesaler, bringing in about $34 billion in annual revenue. He ranks as the 45th richest person in the U.S. Last year, Cohen’s net worth was $10.4 billion.
  2. Alexander Karp
    The 57-year-old cofounder and CEO of Palantir Technologies has a net worth of $14.3 billion, according to Forbes. The data mining firm received early backing from CIA investment arm In-Q-Tel. Karp ranks as the 74th richest person in the United States. In 2024, Karp’s net worth was $3.6 billion.

  3. Mark Zuckerberg – $253 billion (Age 41, California)
  4. Jeff Bezos – $241 billion (Age 61, Florida)
  5. Larry Page – $179 billion (Age 52, California)
  6. Sergey Brin – $166 billion (Age 52, California)
  7. Steve Ballmer – $153 billion (Age 69, Washington)
  8. Jensen Huang – $151 billion (Age 62, California)
  9. Warren Buffett – $150 billion (Age 95, Nebraska)
  10. Michael Dell – $129 billion (Age 60, Texas)
  11. Rob Walton & family – $118 billion (Age 80, Arkansas)
  12. Jim Walton & family – $115 billion (Age 77, Arkansas)
  13. Michael Bloomberg – $109 billion (Age 83, New York)
  14. Bill Gates – $107 billion (Age 69, Washington)
  15. Alice Walton – $106 billion (Age 75, Texas)
  16. Julia Koch & family – $81.2 billion (Age 63, New York)
  17. Charles Koch & family – $73.8 billion (Age 89, Kansas)
  18. Thomas Peterffy – $73.3 billion (Age 80, Florida)
  19. Jeff Yass – $65.7 billion (Age 67, Pennsylvania)
