Market Basket just landed the No. 2 spot in the country on dunnhumby’s annual Retailer Preference Index.
The new rankings looked at the roughly $1 trillion US grocery market and combined hard financial data with how shoppers actually feel about where they shop.
Only two chains finished ahead of everyone else: Texas-based H-E-B at No. 1 and Market Basket right behind it, earning second place for the second time. Wisconsin-based Woodman’s took No. 3 in its first-ever appearance, knocking Costco out of the top three.

After days of escalating rhetoric, President Donald Trump has backed off his threat to impose sweeping tariffs on eight European allies over Greenland. Trump continues to describe a long-term arrangement involving Greenland and the broader Arctic region, leaving questions about how far the US will push.
So this week’s question is…
|
Should the United States take over Greenland?
|
“It’s managed to take our collective attention away from the Epstein files. Just a coincidence, I’m sure.” — Bob Weiner
“No! Absolutely not! Leave Greenland alone! My God, they are stripping away the rights of all Americans while terrorizing us and making everything so damn expensive! Take care of the economy, homelessness, housing, healthcare before you put your hands where they don’t belong! What a backwards administration!” — Maggie
“Absolutely not! It’s time Europe fights back against this corrupt president.” — Patricia Plante
“There is no good result from breaking up NATO which a takeover of Greenland would cause. It is shooting ourselves in the foot. USA already has enough military rights in Greenland under a 1951 Treaty.” — Ivor Freeman
