There’s a new kind of “gym” in Keene—just for toddlers.
Keene Parks and Recreation recently announced the launch of its first-ever “Toddler Gym” program that promises to bring a variety of activities and equipment for toddlers to burn off some extra energy and provide them a space to socialize.
“Increasing toddler programming was a goal for 2024-2025,” the Keene Parks and Recreation Department told the Granite Post in an email. “[That] was the drive behind launching a toddler gym.”
The program, which runs every Monday from 11 a.m. to noon, at the Keene Rec Center’s multipurpose room costs families $5 per visit, and is open to all Keene residents and anyone who lives outside of the city. Parents are expected to supervise their toddlers.
“Our multipurpose room is set up with a wide range of equipment that is all available for free play,” the department wrote. “There is imagination playground equipment, balance bikes, tunnels to crawl through, different size balls, a mini basketball hoop, huola hoops, and more!”
The gym is open to toddlers ages one to five, and runs until Dec. 30, after which the department plans to launch future gym sessions for 2025.
Those willing to register can go on the the City of Keene website.
