Two hospitals were named among the best in New Hampshire this year.

U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2026 Best Hospitals list, with 20 hospitals making the national Honor Roll and 505 ranking among the Best Regional Hospitals in their respective states.

The publication analyzed each facility’s performance and awarded points based on measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and patient experience. The 20 U.S. hospitals that earned the most points made the U.S. News 2026-2027 Best Hospitals Honor Roll.

New Hampshire, which has 30 hospitals, ranks ninth in the country for health care, based on factors including care access, quality, and public health, U.S. News says.

US News’ best hospitals in New Hampshire

Out of 30 hospitals in New Hampshire, two facilities were recognized as the state’s best, according to U.S. News & World Report. Here are the Best Regional Hospitals rankings for New Hampshire:

No. 1: Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (Lebanon, NH)

No. 2: Catholic Medical Center (Manchester, NH)

The following 20 hospitals from across the country, listed in alphabetical order, made the U.S. News 2026-2027 Best Hospitals Honor Roll:

  • Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA)

  • Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, MD)
  • Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, MA)
  • Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN)
  • Mayo Clinic-Arizona (Phoenix, AZ)
  • Mayo Clinic-Florida (Jacksonville, FL)
  • Mount Sinai Hospital (New York, NY)
  • NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell (New York, NY)
  • Northwestern Medicine-Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago, IL)
