Trump-backed DiLorenzo runs against China. His newest endorser lobbies for it

Anthony DiLorenzo says he’ll stop China from stealing American technology and buying American land. His newest endorser is paid to lobby for a company on the Pentagon’s list of Chinese military firms.

Anthony DiLorenzo, the candidate President Donald Trump endorsed in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, has campaigned on stopping China from stealing American technology. In July he touted the endorsement of former Republican Rep. Frank Guinta, a registered lobbyist for a Chinese rail company the Pentagon has designated an arm of the Chinese military.

Anthony DiLorenzo, the Trump-anointed Republican candidate in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, has made getting tough on China a signature promise. The Portsmouth auto dealer’s platform pledges to oppose “Chinese efforts to undermine our currency, steal our technology, and buy our land/infrastructure,” and he has argued that handing American manufacturing to China “made them stronger” militarily as well as economically.

In late July, DiLorenzo celebrated the endorsement of former Rep. Frank Guinta, the last Republican to hold the seat, calling it “another clear sign that New Hampshire Republicans are uniting behind” his campaign.

Guinta is a registered lobbyist for CRRC, a Chinese rail conglomerate the Pentagon has kept on its list of Chinese military companies for four straight years, according to federal lobbying records first reported by the Washington Examiner.

CRRC hired Guinta to fight legislation that would block federal money from buying train cars made by companies under Chinese influence.

DiLorenzo, a first-time candidate who won President Donald Trump’s endorsement on July 13, faces front-runnerHollie Noveletsky and other Republicans in the Sept. 8 primary for the seat that Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas is leaving to run for US Senate.
